The Working Dog
There are several different varieties of working dogs; in the next several minutes I will tell you about some of them and let you know what kind of work that they do.
Probably the most famous working dog that most people have heard of are the German Shepard which work for the K-9 unit for police officers. They are the kind of working dogs that sniff out for narcotics inside of vechicles and people's homes.
Another type of working dog most people know this kind of dog by the name of "Lassie", Border Collie, but not alot of people know that this type is mainly used for its herding ability with the farm life. These dogs are great for their hearing and agility, thats why so many people use them for herding cattle.
Most everyone has heard of the Ititarod race that they do in Alaska well the type of dogs that pull those sleds are called the Australian Cattle Dogs, some people call them Huskies.
Probably everyone heard about Golden Retrievers. They mainly help blinded people to find a way thu the city. They are very patient and they are very come so they are perfect dogs for that job.
That is just of few varieties and ablilities that these working dogs can help the community with.
